A Japanese culture event titled “Cool Japan Fukuoka Fair 2014” was held at Hanoi’s National Museum of History last weekend, attracting a lot of locals as well as tourists.

The event, jointly organized by Japan’s Fukuoka Province and the museum, consisted of a wide range of activities including fashion performances, origami and manga painting instruction, a cosplay contest, and Japanese spring folk games.

The festival was an opportunity for Fukuoka Province to introduce its cultural achievements and developments as well as was to celebrate the friendship between Vietnam and Japan, Governor of Fukuoka Province Ogawa Hiroshi said in his statement at the event.

Along with the festival, the museum is also displaying 70 objects in its “Japanese Culture” exhibit, which features topics such as the history of Vietnam’s relationship with Japan, ancient Japanese pottery, Japanese Buddhist sculpture, and the history of the Samurai.

The exhibit will run at the museum at 25 Tong Dan Street until March 9.
