After watching TV, Tran Thi Le Thu (38) saw a 26 cm centipede crawling out from the TV stand in her house in Ha Lam town, Thang Binh district, the central province of Quang Ninh last Friday night.
Hearing his wife’s loud screams, Thu’s husband, Duong Van Dung (41), arrived to find the largest centipede he’d ever seen in his life.
Dung said it was lucky that his children were in already bed so that they would not be around and get bitten by the centipede, which he suspected to be very poisonous.
He trapped the giant insect and plans to hand it over to authorities on Saturday for inspection.
Neighbors have flocked to Dung’s house to see and take pictures of the giant centipede.
This centipede is said to be the largest of its species found in Vietnam and is bigger than the 23cm long and 2cm wide centipede captured in Islington, London by Aaron Balick back in 2005.
