A 2000-seat auditorium will be constructed starting December 10 in the central province of Ninh Thuan to serve Miss Earth 2012, the 12th edition of the Miss Earth pageant, which will be held in the province next year.
Named the “Theater of Dreams”, the US$10million theater, which will be invested by the Thanh Nien Media Corporation, is scheduled to be finished next August.
Besides the main stage, the auditorium will also consist of an entertainment zone, a shopping mall, and restaurants.
After signing the contract, along with authorities of the province and the pageant’s representatives, that gives Ninh Thuan the rights to host the contest, Nguyen Cong Khe, chairman of the media corporation, said the province has suitable conditions to be the pageant’s venue.
“For example, Ninh Thuan has goats, sheep and grapes, specialties which are familiar to European countries,” he told VNEXPRESS newswire.
“Once the event is finished, I hope the theater becomes a venue to promote local cultural specialties and make Ninh Thuan a province of entertainment, tourism and sport,” he added.
After Miss Earth, the theater is expected to be used for local extravaganzas like Thanh Nien Newspaper’s Charming Vietnam Show, the Miss Vietnam pageant, and the Vietnam Super Model contest.
Miss Earth 2012 will be held next December with the participation of around 90 contestants from around the world.
The province has also been chosen to host the Miss Vietnam 2012 pageant, which will take place in August.
