A private childcare facility in Ho Chi Minh City has been forced to temporarily cease operations as its owner was caught on camera abusing two kids several weeks ago.

The child abuse took place at the Ti Bo childcare facility, located at 149 Linh Dong Street in Linh Dong Ward, Thu Duc City, under the jurisdiction of Ho Chi Minh City.

At 9:00 am on Wednesday, the Linh Dong administration worked with Lam Thi Bach Nga, the owner of the Ti Bo childware facility, after officials received complaints from netizens on Tuesday night about two video clips showing two children being abused at the place.

According to the outcome of an inquiry into the case, the child abuse occurred between 9:00 am and 10:00 am on April 11, with Nga confirmed as the person who mistreated the kids.

She confessed that she pushed five-year-old N.T.C. to the ground and sat on his body to force him to eat tangerines, as the kid covered his mouth, refusing to eat and crying.

She also slapped and used a red plastic brick to hit another six-year-old, T.M.H..

Following the case, Nga sought conciliation with the victims’ families and asked to pay compensation, but her requests were rejected.

During a working session with local authorities, Nga admitted all her wrongdoings and pledged to bear responsibility for her actions.

Her childcare facility was forced to suspend operations, with effect from Thursday this week, according to the Linh Dong administration.

Meanwhile, she is required to ensure the adequate provision of benefits and allowances for teachers and staff, as well as the interests of students and their parents during the suspension.

The ward’s administration also encouraged the parents of the remaining 22 students to temporarily send their kids to other preschools in the area.

Local police will launch a probe into the case, the administration said.
